  1. 🏐 Tryouts This Week: 8/12-8/14 - It's tryout week! We will be in the Upper Gym from 3:30-5:30 PM on Wednesday 8/12, Thursday 8/13, and Friday 8/14.

    • We will have three days of tryouts and will meet with each player one-on-one on Friday to discuss JV/Varsity roster assignments and their role for the season.
    • Players MUST have a current physical on file in order to participate. Please take care of this ahead of time, as players without a physical will not be allowed to join until they have one on file.
    • I have notes for those of you who have already let me know about tryout conflicts. Otherwise, there is no additional registration to complete other than showing up.
    • The following week we will begin regular practices on weekdays from 3:30-5:30 PM.
  2. 👕 Team Store - The 2026 JCVB team store is live! Please visit https://jcvolleyball2026.itemorder.com/shop/home/ to view the options and place orders.

    • The store will close Sunday, August 23.
    • Orders should arrive ~3 weeks after the store closes, which should keep us on track to have gear arrive near the start of conference play.
  3. 📅 Save the Date: JCVB Welcome Reception - Thursday, August 20 - Please save the date for our JCVB Welcome Reception on Thursday, August 20, after practice from approximately 5:45-7:30 PM.

  4. 🏐 CCVA Club Volleyball (2026-2027) - Charm City Volleyball Academy has opened registration for their 2026-2027 boys club season. This is a good offseason option for players looking to keep developing after the school season, with two pathways: a Navy national-competition track and a Steel regional/winter track.

  5. 🗞️ Newsletter Status - All newsletters can be found at https://sites.anvilor.com/jcvb/newsletters/. If you would like to be taken off the email list, please email me at tkutcher@johncarroll.org with the request - no offense will be taken. During the season there will typically be one weekly newsletter communication, with more of a monthly cadence in the offseason.

See you all tomorrow!
