  1. 🏐 2026 Tryouts: 8/12-8/14 - Tryouts are scheduled for Wednesday 8/12, Thursday 8/13, and Friday 8/14, from 3:30-5:30 PM at John Carroll in the Upper Gym.

    • Volleyball season is just a couple of weeks away! Meet in the upper gym at 3:30 and we will get the year started with 3 days of tryouts.
    • Players MUST have a physical and sway testing to participate - please take care of this ahead of time as players without a physical will not be allowed to join until they have a physical on file.
    • The following week we will begin regular practices on weekdays from 3:30-5:30 PM.
    • Please plan vacations and other commitments accordingly where possible, and if you already know about a conflict during tryouts or the first weeks of practice, please communicate that ASAP.

  2. 📅 Save the Date: JCVB Welcome Reception - Thursday, August 20 - Please save the date for our JCVB Welcome Reception on Thursday, August 20, after practice from approximately 5:45-7:30 PM.

    • This will be a chance for players, families, coaches, and alumni to connect before the season gets rolling.
    • More details and RSVP information will come soon.

  3. 🗓️ Schedule Update: Calvert Hall Moves to Monday, October 26 - Please note a change to our published 2026 schedule: our home match vs. Calvert Hall has moved from Friday, October 23 to Monday, October 26 (5:30 PM Varsity / 4:00 PM JV, Upper Gym). The rest of the schedule is unchanged.

    • The updated schedule is always available at https://sites.anvilor.com/jcvb/schedule/.

  4. 🏐 Stevenson University Summer Camp: August 8-9 - The head coach at Stevenson University reached out to share a link to their summer volleyball camp, running August 8-9. Open to any of our players who may be interested:

  5. 🏐 CCVA Club Volleyball (2026-2027) - Our friends at Charm City Volleyball Academy have opened registration for their 2026-2027 boys club season. A great option for players looking to keep developing in the offseason, with two pathways: a Navy national-competition track and a Steel regional/winter track.

  6. 🛍️ Team Shop - A reminder that our Team Shop for non-apparel items is live at https://jc-boys-volleyball.printify.me/. A small percentage of these purchases generates proceeds that go back to supporting our volleyball program. I will share an apparel link once the apparel store is ready.

During the season there will typically be one weekly newsletter communication, with more of a monthly cadence in the offseason.
