  1. ✴️ TeamSnap - One more reminder that TeamSnap is set up! Coaches will be using this to communicate with players. Players please be sure to add your parents.

  2. 🚌 Bus Policy - Remember, if you are not taking the bus home from an away game then the coach who is in charge must have record (from a parent) that the student will not be taking the bus. This can be a TeamSnap message, an email, or a signature on the sign-out sheet. Either myself or Coach Tony will be in charge for each bus trip - let us know if you have any questions.

  3. 🗓️ This Week!

    1. Monday 9/1 - Labor Day - enjoy the off day!
    2. Tuesday 9/2 - Practice in Upper Gym 3:30pm
    3. Wednesday 9/3 - Scrimmage at JC vs. Joppatowne 4:00pm (varsity only - Joppatowne does not have a JV). JV is required to attend for at least the first set of the varisty match. JV players working the game must be there for the entire game - we will notify the team on Tuesday of game assignments (we will likely be changing the assignment crew approach).
    4. Thursday 9/4 - Split-squad practice/scrimmage @ Gilman (see details in schedule updates) - bus scheduled to depart at 2pm.
    5. Friday 9/5 - Practice in Lower Gym 3:30pm

  4. 📋 Looking for a Manager - I'm looking for one or two people who could assist in keeping the scorebook and serving as a manager for the season. This will go on a transcript and would help improve our gameday operations, plus lessen the burden of players to work the games. Players - please reach out to anyone who may be interested!

  5. 💉 Flu Shots - The school nurse is promoting the Flu Shot clinic that JC will be hosting on 9/10 from 5pm-7pm. See the attached flyer and information!

  6. 🏃‍♂️ Bailey's Heart and Soul 5K - The track & field coach (Mr. Torres) passed along this info for a charity 5K at the school for a track athlete who passed away from a heart issue in 2021 https://www.baileysheartandsoul.org/baileys-heart--sole-5k-charity-runwalk.html. Some of the coaches will be running!

  7. 📆 Schedule Updates

    1. Senior Night - 10/3 - Apologies, I wrote the wrong date in my last email. We will do senior night 10/3 (the Friday night home game vs. Friends). Save the date for senior night 10/3! Note that the game is scheduled for 4:30PM - so plan to be to the school for the recognition of our seniors well before game time!
    2. 9/3 vs. Joppatowne 4pm Start - Joppatowne does not have a JV team, varsity will play at 4:00pm. Coach Tony said JV players should plan to attend at least the first set.
    3. 9/4 Play-day @ Gilman (this week) - As a makeup for our cancelled scrimmage with Gilman, we will be traveling to Gilman Thursday for an informal "play-day" joint-practice. We will be playing 3 coach-ref'd games with Gilman simultaneously to get everybody lots of reps heading in to conference play. I wanted to provide the context as the coaches aren't really expecting spectators for this - so there is no need to travel to Gilman.

  8. 🏐 Season Schedule - The game schedule can be seen at the jcvb-2025-schedule Spreadsheet, on my JCVB iCalendar, and via TeamSnap - I have loaded the full practice schedule in to the iCalendar, and I will be keeping it up to date as things change. Currently, I am keeping JV & Varsity together in one calendar.
