vs St. Paul's
W Sets 3-0
John Carroll completed the season sweep of St. Paul's with a 25-11, 25-23, 25-18 win at home. The opening set turned on a remarkable service run from libero Tyler Olivi, who went back to the line with the set level and did not surrender it for ten straight points, breaking a 12-10 game open at 22-10. The visitors answered in the second, going ahead early behind an effective topspin serve and running six in a row late to pull within a point, but the Patriots held on to take it 25-23. The third was John Carroll's most complete attacking set of the night. Jackson DeReamer led the match with eleven kills and was also the Patriots' most dangerous server, striking five aces at a 2.78 rating. Mason Proctor ran the offense beautifully, dealing 28 assists and adding a diving pancake dig, while Peyton Williams was excellent in serve receive and chipped in seven kills. Sam Butler was outstanding on both sides of the ball — a perfect 13-for-13 from the service line and thriving in his first start of the season on the weak side. Luke Boyle impressed in his first extended action at middle.
